Drop Off & Pick Up
Arrival
Enter off Rockville Road--Head right and form 2 lines.
If you need to come into the office, you can ask the staff member to let you into the parking lot. No visitors are allowed past the office without pre-arranged permission from administration.
No students can exit cars except at the school curb. It is unsafe to drop off at the street-even if you are running late. We want all of our scholars arriving to us safely.
Continue in 2 lines until the circle, then alternate to form 1 line!
Be sure to stop prior to the yield sign when our staff has indicated that our walkers are crossing!
At the circle please alternate cars to form ONE line that will run along the curb. Follow the curb to the front of the building.
Unloading Students
Students will only exit when your vehicle is along the front of the building by the painted curb AND you have been signaled by our staff!!!
Kindergarten Entrance
When your vehicle is at the red curb, Kindergarteners ONLY will enter through door 1 for the first two weeks of school. A staff member will be present to help our kindergartners out of the car. This is the closest entrance to their classrooms. We do this until they are comfortable with their
classroom location.
1st - 6th Graders Entrance
Only when your vehicle is at the blue curb (past the flagpole) 1st-6th graders may enter door 2 or 3. Once Kindergarteners are comfortable they can be dropped off at these doors and will follow the gator prints to door 1. Staff will monitor them at all times.
Whenever you are stopped at the blue, please have your students exit your vehicle. It takes less than 1 minute to enter the assigned doors. This helps make our arrival efficient. It gets students in to learn and parents off to their other responsibilities.
Right Turn Only to Exit Onto Rockville Road
To keep traffic flowing along Rockville Road all traffic MUST turn right during arrival. Please plan your route home or to work accordingly. Safety and efficiency is our top priorities during arrival! Thank you for understanding! Please watch for our traffic staff for when it is clear to enter Rockville Road!
Helpful hint: Please make sure you have said your good-byes and have backpacks ready with scholars prior to pulling along the blue curb. This will help us safely and efficiently get scholars into the building and parents on their way!
Dismissal
Enter Off Rockville Road - Head Right and Form 2 Lines.
All car rider families will be assigned a number. When you are greeted by a staff member in the line, please provide the number. When it is time for your scholar(s) to exit the building, their number will be called.
Staff will let students know when it is safe to go to their vehicle that is stopped along the curb. Please continue to pull up as far towards the front of the building as possible so we can get as many students out at once.
Once your student(s) is safely in your car, you may pull out of the line and head toward the exit. Please be mindful of other cars doing the same thing.
The faculty at Garden City are so thankful that you entrust us to care for and educate your children. We also appreciate your partnership in arrival and dismissal. Our 1st goal is an efficient and safe arrival so we can love, encourage, and educate each scholar. Our 2nd goal is an efficient and safe dismissal so you can love, encourage, and spend quality time with your scholar(s).
